If the GTA 6 hacking affair made the headlines of all the media, even the most generalist, another story arose the next day, again concerning a dark story of leaks and involving a certain Dan Allan Gaming. It was he who was behind the @TheRealInsider account which has become known since the beginning of the year for having revealed confidential information on many games, mainly on the side of Ubisoft. Australian-born gaming YouTuber, the latter has a YouTube channel of nearly 200 subscribers and is followed by nearly 000 people on Twitter. Except that this boy was in search of a new glory, certainly anonymous, but which allowed him to increase his number of subscribers since the beginning of the year in an exponential way. Only here, playing with fire, Dan Allan Gaming has made a nice ball: answering with his personal account a question posed for the one who breaks the NDAs: @TheRealInsider.
If he obviously realized his mistake and deleted his tweet in the seconds that followed his message, the interlocutor to whom he replied obviously did not hesitate to take a screenshot and so reveal his true identity to the world. Panicked, Dan Allan Gaming immediately deactivated the @TheRealInsider account, then his main account within minutes of his fatal error. Suffice to say that such an epidermal reaction only reinforced the fact that it was indeed him. After several hours of reflection, Dan Allen Gaming will reactivate his main account in order to post an apology message.
I'm sorry to everyone for my actions. I am ashamed and disappointed in myself. I'm going to take some time to reflect on my bad decisions, which will never happen again. To everyone who has supported me over the years, I am truly sorry for letting you down.
Dan Allang Gaming's latest feats of arms under his masked identity @TheRealInsider were to have revealed the entire Assassin's Creed showcase, without forgetting of course to mention the name of Assassin's Creed Mirage, to confirm the arrival of Assassin's Creed in Japan, in China on mobile and the slightly more horrifying version with witch rituals. Information that was immediately taken up by the Kotaku site and other American media. Inevitably, having been invited a week earlier during a Ubisoft event which had unveiled all the content to the press and Gaming YouTubers, in order to prepare previews and articles upstream, the latter not only broke the embargo imposed by the French publisher, but also rendered null and void the NDA signed by him, thus placing him in an uncomfortable legal situation. To date, we do not know if Dan Allang Gaming has already been the subject of proceedings, but having been in contact with Ubisoft, we know that the French publisher takes this matter very seriously and will act accordingly.
More recently, Dan Allan Gaming deactivated his two Twitter accounts again and posted a video on his YouTube channel, "I'm sorry", to again apologize and explain that he is the only one at fault, that he assumes his actions, that he has lost friends in the video game industry, that his activity as a YouTuber risks being impacted and that he will try to become a better person. He also explains that there is little chance that he will return to Twitter, a place where he is no longer really welcome. Dan Allan Gaming has also admitted that these "infos" about Silent Hill Remake and Metal Gear Solid Remake are just fabricated lies and speculated from other rumors circulating on the web. This story has allowed well-known industry insiders like Jason Schreier, Tom Henderson and Jeff Grubb to comment on this unfortunate case. We do not know if they are the best placed to give lessons, they who also leak information throughout the year; but openly.
