With Among Us, you can play with different people from different locations, consoles, and ages. This can lead to language that may not be appropriate for younger players. It's a good thing that parents can censor the chat.
Although this is already done by default, if it somehow turns off:
- To access settings, press the gear button
- First go to the main menu and go to settings if you want to do this without being interrupted by the game.
- Tap Censor Chat.
- Click it to enable or disable it for PCs.
- On a mobile device, you can turn it on or off by tapping on it
- It's just a matter of selecting it on consoles.

All curses and offensive language are converted to asterisks
. The feature is only available for text chat. Players cannot use it to silence other players who are speaking out loud.
The censorship system isn't the best, even with text chat. There are times when words that aren't even inappropriate are censored. In the past, developers have taken a lot of heat for this. There have been numerous complaints about players having their entire chats replaced with asterisks.
