Back 4 Blood's content continues to expand with today's announcement of the game's third major expansion after "Children of the Worm" and "Tunnels of Terror". Dubbed "River of Blood", it will feature a new story-driven campaign that, across five maps, will have players travel up a river while stopping at various points to collect supplies and battle heavily armed enemies. This mission will be an opportunity to embody Tala, a former cult follower turned "Cleaner", who is able to summon Jeff, an Infested. Besides, "River of Blood" will include 8 character skins, 12 exclusive weapon skins, new weapons, accessories and maps.
That's not all, since it is indicated in the press release that the DLC will land at the same time as the "Trial of the Worm" update. From what we are told, the latter will take the form of a cooperative PvE mode where players will have to make their way along a chain of four maps while earning supply points. They will be able to add corruption modifiers or choose the most dangerous paths to increase the difficulty, and at the same time the number of supply points recovered.
Finally, an event will take place from December 6, 2022 (the date from which the "River of Blood" expansion and the "Trial of the Worm" update will be available) to January 4, 2023 to allow players to enjoy decorations parties in Fort Hope, listen to holiday music via the jukebox, and collect skins, emblems, weapon skins, and sprays. Warner Bros. Games promises that it will say more about the subject when the event is about to start.
One more thing: like the two previous DLCs, "River of Blood" is part of the annual pass contained in the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of Back 4 Blood.
