As a Spirit Hunter, Camellia can be a powerful fighter with a knack for battling Spirit enemies. She's a bit of a glass cannon early in the game, but players can beef her up as a companion and make her more of a support role or heavy damage dealer instead. Regardless, Camellia will need to be built to survive in the world as the player's companion.
How camellia begins

Camellia does not start out with the best stats, however, players can use them to their advantage in certain situations. She is the Spirit Hunter subclass of Shaman with her high stats in Dexterity and Wisdom. This automatically makes her good at finesse weapons. Next, her skill focus is on trickery, making her good at picking and disarming traps as well as other roleplaying options.
With this build style already in mind, she has a lot of variety for players to choose from for her. Depending on the type of role she has to play within the group, this flexibility can make her incredibly useful as a companion. This also makes her character the perfect option for multiclassing.

Spirit Hunter Abilities for Camellia

As a Spirit Hunter, Camellia primarily focuses on debuffing and damaging enemies with her Spirit Weapon. These two elements make his character a mortal enemy and a weak enemy. Players won't want to keep her in the fray for long, but her high Dexterity, 19, will help her stay in the game. Here are the abilities Spirit Hunters receive in the game.

Unlike other Shaman subclasses, the Spirit Hunter does not have a Spirit Companion, but their spirit is weapon-bound. The most important aspect of this class is the type of spirit they bonded with. Camellia starts automatically with the Battle spirit. The main choices, however, lie in the hexes the players choose.

The best options here for this particular build to choose from are Misfortune, Ward, Cackle, and Evil Eye. Bad Luck and Evil Eye do similar things, causing a target to suffer disadvantage with Bad Luck or -2 to a specific roll type with Evil Eye. Ward offers a +2 to deflection on AC and resistance. Finally, Cackle will extend the duration of hex enemies within 9 yards.
Multiclass Camellia
To play with Camellia's current and preset strengths, the best option is to multiclass her into something that matches her stats well. Her starting class mainly focuses on debuffing enemies with Hex and enchanting her weapon with the spirits she hunts. Players must complete his character with the second class they choose. With Dexterity higher than Wisdom, the best option is to multiclass as Rogue and possibly take the Eldritch Scoundrel or Sylvan Trickster subclass.

Adding the Rogue class to her initial Spirit Hunter will allow players to get more critical hits and take advantage of stealth to keep her alive longer in more dangerous areas. Players can also choose a subclass within the thief which will also affect their abilities. The main two that would work well for his base playstyle are Eldritch Scoundrel and Knife Master, however, alternatively the player could try to work his way up to the Arcane Trickster prestige class.

More advanced options for Camellia
The rogue Eldritch Scoundrel subclass will grant the player access to level six cantrip magician spells and the Detect Magic ability. These are in exchange for less sneak attack damage, less rogue talent, and absolutely no Uncanny Dodge. This is the only good option that will allow players to eventually reach the Arcane Trickster prestige class. However, the trade-off for fewer sneak attacks may defeat the rogue multiclass point for some players.
In order to earn the Arcane Trickster prestige class, players will need to qualify with four levels of trickery, four mobility, two levels of sneak attack, second level spells, and four points of arcane knowledge. This can be quite easily achieved from mixing the two classes and the Eldritch Scoundrel subclass. What will take the most time is the Tier 2 spell option. However, the Arcane Trickster may be worth the wait.
Trickster Arcane Abilities
- Level One – Arcane Spellcasting and Ranged Ledger
- Level 2 – Sneak Attack (+1d6)
- Tier Three – Impromptu Sneak Attack
- Level Four – Sneak Attack (+2d6)
- Level Five – Impromptu Sneak Attack
- Level Six – Sneak Attack (+3d6)
- Level Seven – Impromptu Sneak Attack
- Level Eight – Sneak Attack (+4d6)
- Level Nine – Impromptu Sneak Attack and Invisible Thief
- Level 10 – Sneak attack (+5d6) and surprise spells
The main perks allow players to access wizard spells and use cheat skills from 30 feet away, making them good for scouting near the front of the party and unlocking areas. Eventually, at level nine, players will gain the invisibility option. Make Camellia nearly overpowered as she weaves her way across the battlefield casting spells on distant enemies and using devastating sneak attacks on those who get too close to her.
Alternatively, if players don't want to worry about earning the prestige class, the Knife Master is another great option. With this subclass, players will focus more on stealth and sneak attack damage, creating devastating blows, especially with daggers, kukri, daggers, starknives, and sai. Overall, she will trade her Sneak Stab and Blade Sense for more Danger Sense and Trapfinding. However, this will still not grant any magic abilities to Camellia.
