We haven't heard from Black Myth Wukong for a year, the action game from the Chinese studio Game Science which takes up the story of Sun Wukong, the monkey king, and which borrows a lot from Dark Souls in its way of apprehending the boss. It took until August 20, 2022 for a new gameplay video to surface and it was through Nvidia that the game showed itself once again. Clearly there to highlight the manufacturer's RTX technology, this 8-minute demo allows us to appreciate the devastating plasticity of this game, which can finally offer its credentials to the next gen term. It is enough to dwell on the richness of the environments, the details, the modeling of the characters, their animations and the lighting in the game in general to see that this Black Myth Wukong will be a technological showcase for the next gen consoles, the technologies developed by Nvidia and for China, which is becoming a major player in video games.
In this new gameplay video in 4K format, we discover fights, a lot of fights, against standard enemies, but also larger and tougher bosses. Obviously, it is at the end of the video that the highlight of the show is essential, with the confrontation against a new dragon. During moments of breathing, where it is possible to breathe, exploration is required, just to take advantage of the graphics of the game, but also to use weapons other than his magic stick. We see for example that Sun Wukong can stop the water of a waterfall by casting a kind of magic spell and thus discover a secret passage, which will lead him to this dragon who will give him a hard time. Developed under Unreal Engine 5, Black Myth Wukong should be released in 2023 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series if all goes well.
