Black Panther Wakanda Forever: the fight scene on the bridge was the most complicated, the actors talk about it

On display in Spain since November 9, Black Panther Wakanda Forever is off to a very good start worldwide. With more than 330 million dollars raised at the box office in one weekend, the film directed by Ryan Coogler ranks as the second best start of the year, just behind Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. For our part, we had the opportunity to attend one of the many press conferences, in the company of the director, the main actors, but also Kevin Feige, the mastermind of the entire MCU and Nate Moore the producer. Several topics were discussed and among them, the famous fight scene on the bridge, when Namor's generals decided to attack Shuri, Okoyé and Riri Williams (Iron Heart). A scene of great intensity, which required 4 months of work for the entire production to stage it. According to the actors, this is the longest sequence that was shot for the film. Not only did it show the ferocity of Okoyé, always so quick to fight and defend the values of Wakanda, but also to highlight the talent of Ryan Coogler when it comes to magnifying certain plans, in particular the car that is hit by a water bomb sent by the soldiers of Talocan. Here is an excerpt of what was said at the press conference we attended.

Alex Livinalli: I think that was probably the longest scene we shot in the movie. It took, what, like four months?

Nate Moore: Yeah, we did it several times too.

Alex Livinalli: We trained for months, me and Danaï. We were indoors and outdoors just rehearsing and rehearsing and rehearsing. And for me, it was such a beautiful moment to see, how our choreography progressed. And not just the technical side, but also getting to know her as a person, it allowed us to bond when shooting the fight scene. And I'm just so grateful that it was with her.

Danai Gurira: It was a lot of work and thank God it was with Alex. Because he's a big guy and he's really nice. He's so nice that I knew he wouldn't hurt me during the scene. But yes, it was a lot of work and it was also nice to be able to work together.
