The release of Digimon Survive is set for July 29 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
The Digimon franchise is about to make a comeback in video games, but not necessarily in the way you expected. Indeed, Bandai Namco Entertainment has just released a new gameplay trailer of Digimon Survive which has nothing to do with a survival game. Mixing mechanics from Tactical-RPGs and the Visual Novel genre, the game surprises and is necessarily aimed at a very specific set of players. Graphically very attractive, this Digimon Survive will allow us to explore the different environments through an interactive world map, knowing that it will be possible to communicate Takuma, his friends and their Digimons. We learn that certain choices will have an impact on the story, but also the fate of the characters and the way certain Digimon will evolve. During fights, the player can encourage his creatures to allow them to be stronger. This translates to using boosts and other perks, but also trying to talk to enemy Digimons with a chance to recruit them to their team. As often in tactical role-playing games, positioning on the map is important when trying to gain advantages.
