Kickstarted in 2014, Dual Universe is finally a reality. The French space MMO resembling Star Citizen is indeed available on PC, especially after two years of beta which allowed Novaquark developers to refine the game after player feedback. In order to attract as many people as possible, the French studio announces that a free trial version is available on Steam which works independently from the game's main server. The idea is to give an overview of the game, of its universe and its gameplay via an accelerated experience. Ambitious in many respects, Dual Universe is unique in that its content is entirely built and driven by players, using voxel building technology described as innovative. Players are indeed free to become artists, miners, entrepreneurs or choose the profession of their choice in a market economy entirely influenced by their own actions. They can build their fortune through mining, ore processing, manufacturing cargo ships, brokering weapons systems, and more. Bonding, collaborating or competing, players are called upon to make decisions that involve an entire solar system. The role they choose to play in the game's ecosystem depends entirely on their actions, not pre-determined classes. We had also had the opportunity to play it two years ago and our feelings were quite mixed at the time, the fault of a game that was a little too dispersed. We hope that the two years of beta have managed to improve the various weak points of the game.
