F-Zero: a fan spends a fortune to ask Nintendo to revive the series, here is the answer
The fascination that some fans have for a license can lead them to splurge, as was the case of tweetos Momiji who prefers to remain anonymous. To better understand the story, you have to go back to Nintendo's annual meeting that was held recently. On this occasion, a shareholder asked the Japanese manufacturer if it intended to create new games or remakes based on series that marked the history of the group, including F-Zero. To which the firm's president, Shuntaro Furukawa, replied: "It is really difficult to develop new games and remakes, including sequels, for every game that people want, but we are grateful and appreciate that the players express their expectations of our games." Pure waffle, clearly.

What is particularly interesting is that our colleagues from Business Insider have contacted the shareholder in question, and it turns out to be Momiji. Based in Japan, he explained to them that last February he bought around 5,6 Nintendo shares for a total value of 40 million yen (just over €000). This expense - financed by the sale of shares of another company - opened the doors to the famous annual meeting, without having the guarantee of being able to ask a question. It was kind of the icing on the cake. "I've been playing Nintendo games since I was little, he told Business Insider. I love that feeling of speed in F-Zero."

In his paper, our colleague adds that he inquired with a representative of the company, and indeed, the entry ticket to participate in Nintendo's annual meeting does indeed correspond to the investment made by Momiji. Anyway, F-Zero has been in the garage for 18 years now (the last episode to date is F-Zero: Climax released in 2004 on Game Boy Advance), and purists are seriously starting to wonder if they will have the chance to witness the return of the license during their lifetime.

In the meantime, we remind you that the excellent F-Zero X is in the catalog of Nintendo Switch Online + Additional Pack. A way like any other to wait for a possible miracle.
