Earlier in the week, Suikoden creator Yoshitaka Murayama announced a new announcement for the dormant Konami series. Today, Murayama followed up on that tease, announcing Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, a spiritual successor to Suikoden made in collaboration with Junko Kawano, Osamu Komuta, and Junichi Murakami, all of whom have worked on other games in the series.
Rabbit & Bear Studios, Murayama Company and the other founders announced Eiyuden Chronicle via a press release courtesy of Gematsu.
A Hundred Heroes Kickstarter is set to go live Monday, July 27 at 12 p.m. IS. Eiyuden Chronicle is currently slated for a PC release. Depending on the amount raised, it will also be released on PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is set on the continent of Allraan, a “tapestry of nations with diverse cultures and values.”
The two main characters, Seign Kesling and Nowa, seek to find this artifact, but as it is a successor to Suikoden, they are quickly drawn into a massive conflict spanning the continent.
And as you'd expect from a game subtitled Hundred Heroes, Seign and Nowa aren't the only heroes you'll encounter. There are plenty of other characters to recruit and discover, like Marisa the guardian and warrior of the forest, Melridge the cynical researcher, and Garr the beastman. Like the Suikoden, you'll gather a vast band of warriors with their own motivations, desires, strengths, and weaknesses.
Recruit more heroes in the many game features of Eiyuden Chronicle. Balanced teams have a better chance of succeeding in adventures or when gathering resources, and they will unlock more trading options.
They will also help you defend your fortress, a key feature of Eiyuden Chronicle. As you progress through your journey, your motley group of heroes gradually build a hometown encounter a fortress that you'll also need to defend from time to time.
The developers said they include a lot of freedom in how you build your team and what you choose to focus on with your stronghold, such as developing defenses, which will make every game different.
We'll be following Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes very closely through its Kickstarter campaign and beyond, so stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Eiyuden Chronicle news as it develops.
