While the world is barely recovering from the group therapy between Ben Stiller, John Travolta and LeBron James for the international advertisement of God of War Ragnarök, now Japan is drawing its own TV spot to promote the game at the Country of the rising sun. We see Hiromichi Sato, a famous TV host in Japan, sing a kind of nursery rhyme for children (Goddo Obu Woragnaroku no Uta), evoking Kratos, Atreus and what it takes from their weapons. It is obviously a parody of the children's programs that abound on Japanese television and which gives it worldwide exposure. It must be said that the proposal is completely out of step with God of War Ragnarök, a game that pours more into violence, with conflicting relationships between parents and children – we remember the toxic relationship between Freya and Baldur. Still, this ditty immediately has its effect, but nevertheless allows itself to spoil a major element of the game. We won't tell you more, it's up to you to find out in this offbeat advertisement. As for the release of God of War Ragnarök, it is still set for November 9, on PS5 and PS4.
