THQ Nordic has every intention of reviving past glories. After the first Outcast 2 gameplay trailer, the company announces the remake of the first Gothic, an RPG released more than 20 years ago, in 2001. Simply called Gothic 1 Remake, this title is developed by Alkimia Interactive, which counts release the game on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. A first trailer, without gameplay, has been unveiled in order to show the capabilities of this homemade 3D engine where you can soak up the rather dark atmosphere of this mine where you will make some unpleasant encounters, especially with arachnophobes. The story will allow us to find the kingdom of Myrtana which will be invaded by Orcs and its king, Rhobar II, will force all the prisoners to work in the mines of Khorinis to manufacture weapons to fight against the invader. To avoid any mutiny, the king uses magicians who create a magnetic field around the mines. But as everyone knows, a grain of sand will come to stop the gears and the prisoners will become uncontrollable. The player will find himself in the shoes of the Nameless Hero, who is none other than a prisoner who will free himself from his chains. THQ Nordic specifies that this Gothic 1 Remake will be a faithful restoration of the original game, but that the gameplay has been modernized to adapt to today's canons. There is no release date communicated at this stage otherwise...
