Gran Turismo: the shooting of the film has just started, here are the first photos
The start of the filming of the film Gran Turismo was given this Saturday, November 12, 2022, as evidenced by the tweet from Sony Pictures, which took the opportunity to post the very first "on set" photo. On the digital clapperboard that can be seen on the picture, the name of Jacques Jouffret appears, a French cameraman but also director of photography who has worked a lot with Hollywood, notably on films such as Into the Wild, Deepwater, Du Sang and Tears or even Bloodshot. However, the director of the film is none other than Neill Blomkamp, world famous for District 9, Elysium and Chappie. The story of the movie Gran Turismo is adapted from the true story of Jann Mardenborough, a Gran Turismo player who won the GT Academy several times, allowing him to become a real racing driver afterwards. It is Archie Madekwe, who we saw in Midsommar, who embodies the young talent, while he will be coached by David Harbor and disliked by Orlando Bloom, a long-mouthed marketing manager who works in the world of the automobile. As for the parents of Jann Mardenborough's character, they will be played by Djimon Hounsou Geri Halliwell, the famous Spice Girl. Filming is taking place right now in Hungary for a cinema release on August 11, 2023. This is the second feature film after Uncharted.
Filming is now underway on #GranTurismoMovie - based on the inspiring true story of a Gran Turismo player, Jann Mardenborough, who won a series of gaming competitions leading him to become an actual professional racecar driver. 🎬🏎 pic.twitter.com/gV13gEg2G5
