The information leaked a few weeks ago, but it is now official: Microsoft will market a new pro controller at a more affordable price, called the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core. Aware that the €179,99 required at checkout for the first Elite controller does not correspond to all budgets, the American manufacturer offers a lighter version at €129,99. So what is the trick that allows Microsoft to lower the price by €50? Quite simply by removing all the interchangeable components, which now become optional. Where Microsoft is clever is that the pack with interchangeable sticks, paddles, directional crosses, USB-C cable, charging station and transport box is sold separately for €59,99. This basically means that if you buy the two elements separately, the Xbox Elite 2 Core controller costs you 189,98, or 10€ more than the first Xbox Elite Series. Obviously, on a misunderstanding, it is possible to get a little extra ticket. In addition to its price and fewer components, this Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core is available in a white version, which gives it a more eye-catching look than its big sister, especially since in terms of autonomy, Microsoft announces a battery capable of lasting up to 40 hours.
