It's no secret: Sony Interactive Entertainment is actively seeking to broaden its target, which notably involves the development of game-services, an ultra-popular model in Asia. Moreover, last month, in the context of an interview granted to our colleagues from Axios, Hermen Hulst (the boss of PlayStation studios) indicated that a dozen service games had been validated by Sony Interactive Entertainment, without that we don't know any more on the subject.
But if we are to believe the recent indiscretions of the MTN site, it could be that one of them concerns the Horizon series. Indeed, our colleagues understand that NCSoft (Lineage, Guild Wars) has been asked to create an MMORPG around the license. The code name, "Project H", would even appear in the job offers recently published by the South Korean studio. Of course, NCSoft kindly kicked in touch, and Video Games Chronicles awaits a return from Sony Interactive Entertainment which, of course, should evade the subject.
We take this opportunity to recall that initially, Guerrilla Games had considered a cooperation mode for Horizon: Zero Dawn. He had finally made the choice to give it up to focus on other aspects of the game. And while we thought that Forbidden West would have been the perfect opportunity to launch cooperation, the Dutch studio once again preferred keep this mechanic for a future project. A spin-off? Skyline 3? We don't know for the moment, but in any case, the upcoming arrival of Horizon: Call of the Mountain on PlayStation VR 2 shows that Sony Interactive Entertainment is betting heavily on Aloy. Logical, since the first Horizon has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide since its release in 2017.
