Independent studio Devolver Digital goes public on the London Stock Exchange

Video game publisher Devolver Digital, known for releasing indie titles like Serious Sam remakes, Hotline Miami, Enter the Gungeon, Gris and Carrion, has announced that the company will now be publicly listed. The game studio will be part of the London Stock Exchange.

Devolver employees, including those who joined the company recently this year, will still hold controlling stakes in the company. This means that people outside the company cannot buy enough shares to receive a majority of Devolver. According to the company, the IPO will allow it to invest more in the games its studios are working on.

The IPO will also give the company better opportunities to form partnerships for other game titles and hopefully grow Devolver's headcount. Currently, Devolver is partnered with video game development studios Croteam (developers of Serius Sam and The Talos Principle), Dodge Roll (Enter the Gungeon), Nerial (Reign and Card Shark), and FireFly Studios (the Stronghold series). Devolver also promises that a sequel to Dodge Roll's Enter the Gungeon has "specific plans" and that they've asked "more than once."
