In less than 24 hours, dinosaur fans and followers of the Jurassic Park saga will be able to discover the third and final episode of this trilogy relaunched in 2015. Moreover, Jurassic World Dominion was particularly awaited by its cross-over concept : that of bringing together all the actors of the first Jurassic Park with the cast of the last episodes. Because yes, Hollywood knows it, nostalgia is a seller and the children of yesteryear, who have become adults today, are ready to go to cinemas to see their childhood heroes. Sam Neil, Jeff Goldblum and Laura Dern alongside Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, the promise is enticing, especially since behind the camera, Colin Trevorrow is back, he who directed the first Jurassic World he is 7 years old. But beyond simple fan-service, Jurassic World Dominion manages to offer a story that allows all actors to have a fair role in the film and not just simple cameos...
If Jurassic World Dominion will bring together 2 generations of actors in a single film, it also takes the time to introduce new characters, such as Kayla Watts, played on screen by the lovely Dewanda Wise, who has a few scenes good bad-ass, or even Ramsay Cole, played by Mamoudou Athie and whose rather chic and relaxed look recalls the character of Ian Malcom played by Jeff Goldman. If we obviously go to see a Jurassic Park movie in the cinema, it's for its dinosaurs and each new episode introduces a new super predator. The T-Rex, which we still love so much is still there of course, but for Dominion, it's the Giganotosaurus, which lived in South America 98 million years ago. And even if Jurassic World Dominion is the film where we see the most dinosaurs of the whole saga, it is also a film where the human being is at the center of the story. Probably because there was also a big cast to work on.
By bringing together the actors of the first Jurassic Park and those of Jurassic World, Colin Trevorrow had to take into account these 30 years of heritage and it was unthinkable for him not to refer to the first episodes. Dominion therefore does not hesitate to integrate easter eggs and even to reproduce cult scenes... We had the opportunity to go to London for the press tour organized by Universal Pictures, to talk to all the actors of the film ( except Chris Pratt who could not come to Europe, since he is a father for the second time, and whom we had interviewed last April as a result). They were all very interesting to listen to, but it is obviously Jeff Goldblum's lunar performance that we will remember. We let you enjoy his show.
