What ends up being a big moment for Kingdom Hearts fans, it was finally announced that all previously released Kingdom Hearts games would be making their way to the Nintendo Switch. The Kingdom Hearts I.5 + II.5 HD Remakes, Kingdom Hearts II.8 HD and Kingdom Hearts III collections will be available to play on Switch via cloud versions.
Not only is the main trilogy making its way to Nintendo hardware, but most of the spin-off titles. This means Switch owners can play Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance. Other spin-offs like 358/2 Days and Re:coded are only available as cutscenes. No release date given for any of the Kingdom Hearts games on Switch; Nintendo only responded with more information to come.

This Kingdom Hearts games bundle won't be the first in the series to appear on the Switch. Rhythm game Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory was released for Switch in November 2020. Kingdom Hearts III and the Collection for Nintendo Switch was announced during the Sora showcase for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sora is the protagonist of the Kingdom Hearts franchise and he will now be the final character of Smash Ultimate.
