Microids: the French publisher opens an office in Germany, international expansion continues
Microids continues its international expansion. After having opened offices in Asia, both in China and Japan, the French publisher let us know today that a new office, based in Berlin, Germany, has just opened its doors. Its objective will be to steer the establishment of partnerships with major players in the German-speaking market such as Germany, Switzerland and Austria. It must be said that certain Microids licenses work very well in Germany, such as Asterix & Obelix or even the point & click adventure games which are very successful across the Rhine. And with a turnover of more than 55 million dollars in 2021, Microids is therefore on a development dynamic that could also materialize internationally. It is also specified in the press release that 85% of Microids' turnover was achieved outside of Spain and that we also observe a growth of more than 60% between 2020 and 2021. to leave the end of this brief to Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids.

Through the creation of our distribution network in Spain with MDF, the opening of two internal studios in Paris and Lyon as well as the acquisition of a stake in OSome Studio, these last two years have been decisive for the Microids group. While the company has existed for more than 37 years, the new strategy initiated nearly 10 years ago allows us to achieve historic sales and positions us as a major player in the video game industry, but also in figurines through Plastoy.

After the opening of an office in Japan, 2021 was also the opportunity to open an office in China, which allows us to develop in Asia but also to expand our catalog. The opening of the German office gives us the opportunity to increase our growth in Europe, and we are proud to entrust this mission to our close collaborator Julien Renzaho.
