Among the games announced during the Nintendo Direct special indie games this evening, a certain Pepper Grinder stood out. Logical when you know that it is Devolver Digital which produces the title, which always knows how to sniff out good productions with enormous potential. Developed by the independent studio Ahr Ech, Pepper Grinder is a game that certainly offers pixel-art graphics that have become very fashionable in recent years, but stands out for its drill-based gameplay, namely the act of drilling into the ground . We play Pepper, a young woman with blue hair, equipped with a drill (called Grinder) which allows her to dig tunnels and therefore to move without the slightest obstacle. But her drill also serves as her weapon, since she can pulverize enemies, knowing that some will be huge creatures as we can see in the first gameplay trailer. Pepper Grinder promises action, platforming, but also puzzles to solve. Release scheduled for Spring 2023 on PC and Nintendo Switch only.
