Like its digital predecessor, Persona 5 Royal has a real ending to achieve and a number of other not-so-hot endings. Unlike its predecessor, getting the true ending in Persona 5 Royal isn't like walking blindfolded through a maze of soul-eating monsters.
It still takes work, though, and you'll want to start early to unlock the third semester and bring everyone's story to their best. Our Persona 5 Royal true ending guide is here to walk you through it all.
Person 5 to royal ends
Three of Persona 5 Royal's endings are the same as the base Persona 5 endings. bad ending on YouTube if you really want to see them.
Otherwise, make sure you have more than one save file as a backup and reload it to meet your desired ending requirements.
By the way, we're not counting the bad ending you get from missing a Palace deadline here. It's more "game over, chump" than it's a proper ending.
Our guide lays out the endings in branching path order, but you'll need to start working towards the true ending early to get both the Persona 5 Royal ending and semester three.
Requirements for Persona 5 Royal True Ending
The most important thing is to progress in the confidential adviser with Maruki. We've detailed how to do this in our Maruki Confidant guide, but here are some additional tips. Seize every opportunity to rank the Confidential Advisor.
Maruki's Confidant
Maruki is available more often than many other Confidants, but clearing his scenes early means more free time for other Confidants. You need Maruki's Confidant in the ninth rank on November 17 (17/11) to open the third semester and have a chance on the true endings. It automatically progresses to rank 10 at some point, so no need to worry about that.
Akechi's Confidant
The next Confidant to focus on is Akechi, the Justice Confidant. This one takes more effort, as you will stagnate at certain ranks without the right social stats.
- Rank 3 – requires level three knowledge and charm
- Rank 7 – requires level four knowledge
You need to get Akechi's Confidant to Rank 17 before November XNUMX to unlock the truly true and true ending. Like Maruki's Confidant, Akechi automatically progresses thereafter.
Yoshizawa's Confidant
Kasumi Yoshizawa's trust of faith isn't technically necessary to see the third semester or the true endings. However, you miss out on an important part of the story before and after December if you don't progress the Confidant of Faith. Plus, getting bonuses for Faith Personas is worth it.
Persona 5 Royal Bad Ending 1
You've known all along that Sae Niijima is interrogating Joker, so saying the first bad ending takes place during the full interrogation isn't a spoiler. On November 20 (20/11), spill the beans on your friends to get the first bad ending.
If you want to avoid that ending, here are the answers to choose from when interrogating Sae:
- First question: whatever
- Second question: choose the first choice
- Third question: choose the first choice
Persona 5 Royal Bad Ending 2
The second bad ending is very spoiled. The chance for this one comes on December 24 (24/12) during a conversation with a certain character.
You will know when this happens because it is about making a pact with this character. Do this to get the second bad ending.
Refuse the request to proceed to the true ending.
Persona 5 Royal End normal
The normal ending for Persona 5 Royal is the same as the good ending for Persona 5. You will get this if you:
- Do not rank up Maruki's Confidant before the deadline
- Complete the last palace on time
- Don't sell your friends
- Don't agree with this character
This is the frozen yogurt from the endings of Persona 5 Royal. Everything is fine.
Persona 5 Royal Bad Ending 3 (New Bad Ending)
You get two shots at the new bad ending in the third half. The first is January 9 (1/9) and the second is February 2 (2/2). We won't spoil the context, but the choices are similar to previous bad endings. Don't side with the bad guy and you're on your way.
Persona 5 Royal New Good Ending
The new Persona 5 Royal good ending is what you get if you've ranked Maruki's confidant, but not Akechi's, and refuse to side with the third-semester villain. It's good, but obviously not the best.
Persona 5 Royal True Ending
Persona 5 Royal's true ending unlocks if you
- Raise Maruki's and Akechi's Confidant to levels nine and eight, respectively, by November 19
- Arrive in the third semester
- Refuses to side with her villain
It's very good and definitely worth getting there.
That's all you need to know to get the true Persona 5 Royal ending. If you get that far, you'll still have to deal with class responses in the third semester. Lucky for you, we've got a guide just for that, along with plenty of other Persona 5 Royal guides.
