With the end of COVID and the return of face-to-face fairs, one festival stands out from the others for its more intimate side. This is indeed the Play Sorbonne U Festival, an event created by Play Sorbonne University, a student association of the Sorbonne dedicated to video games and playful video culture. This is the 5th edition and it will be held on Saturday October 1st at the Pierre and Marie Curie campus of Sorbonne University. The idea behind this festival is to celebrate and introduce people to gaming culture in all its forms, with several activities on the program. Opportunity to test video games (new and retro), meet independent developers, discover an exhibition of video games halfway between arts and sociology through the work of Roger Caillois (Les Jeux et les Hommes, 1958), the program is quite interesting for a single festival day. And finally, icing on the cake, a Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament of 128 players is even planned. What a great day to spend.
When: Saturday, October 1, 10 a.m. to 20 p.m.
Location: Pierre and Marie Curie Campus of Sorbonne University
Metro: Jussieu, Line 7
