The announcement a few minutes ago of the GeForce RTX 40 series by Nvidia made it possible to discover the arrival of DLSS 3, a new update to its technology which makes it possible to boost the capacities of video games in a completely software-based way. By relying on the optical flow accelerator which is able to anticipate movements thanks to a calculation made between the previous frames and the current frame, the new graphics cards from Nvidia will be able to considerably change the calculation times and in particular the use of Ray-Tracing, which requires significant resources. But the GeForce RTX 40 will redefine the standards and prove it to us on video, with several games. One of them is none other than Portal which is back looking better and smoother than ever. Thanks to DLSS 3, Valve Software's game reappears almost in a new light. Higher contrast colors, deeper blacks, reflections and afterglow effects all over the place, it almost feels like the game has been remastered by the developers, when it's just the Nvidia RTX Remix tool which is able to visually boost any game, even the oldest ones. It's quite impressive and Nvidia has announced that 35 games will be DLSS 3 compatible when the new graphics cards are launched.
