Square Enix and Luminous Productions have shown the first new Project Athia footage in nearly a year, but it's now called Forspoken. It follows the story of Frey, played by Ella Balinska (Charlie's Angels 2019), a woman transported to a world of magic, "mother *** king of dragons" and massive environments.
Luckily for Frey, she gains magical abilities once she gets to Athia, and she'll need them to stay alive as dragons aren't the only supernatural creatures waiting for a human snack.
Athia is vast, with countless biomes for Frey to explore, though we still have little idea what she does there other than dodging fiery wolf monsters. Whatever she discovers, Frey's journey promises to be intense. Balinska said:
Frey as a character is real, she's raw, she's a girl who's lost her way – both figuratively and literally – and she's a character I immediately connected with, because I think many people around the world will be too when they embark on this adventure.
Forspoken is designed specifically for PlayStation 5, although a Forspoken PC port will release at the same time when the game launches in 2022.
