You'll need to know how to clean up blood in Project Zomboid if you want to avoid getting sick. Killing zombies on your own turf can make your base of operations incredibly messy and bloody.
This Project Zomboid guide will tell you everything you need to know about how to clean up the blood and prevent yourself from getting sick, which puts you at a disadvantage against the horde of zombies.
How to Clean Blood in Project Zomboid
Find some bleach and a towel or mop
In order to clean the blood, you will need a few specific items. You will need bleach and a towel or mop. You can use a bath towel or a tea towel, as both will work just as well.
Bleach can be found in a number of places, and you're likely to come across it when looking for a mop or towel. Bleach bottles can be found inside medicine cabinets or inside kitchen or bathroom counters. You can identify the fullness of a bottle by its weight. A full bottle will weigh 1,6, while an empty bottle of bleach will weigh 0,2.
With each use, between 0,11 and 0,12 of its weight is lost. Because bleach has a limited durability, you'll need to find it regularly to clean up blood in large quantities. However, it is not a rare item, so it is not difficult to find more. It can even sometimes be dropped by zombies.
Towels are fairly easy to find and can often be placed in bathroom or kitchen cabinets around the world. Mops can sometimes be found inside kitchen counters, although they are less likely to spawn. Either way, none of these items have durability; you can reuse them endlessly to clean the blood.
How to Clean Blood
Now that you have your items, you can clean up the blood. Approach any bloodstained surface and right-click to reveal some options. One of these options will say “Clean Blood”.
Choose the Clean Blood option and you will need to select the specific tile you wish to clean. When cleaning is complete, right-click a second time to close the tile menu. Repeat this for each area covered in blood.
That's all you need to know about cleaning up blood in the new version of Project Zomboid. If you want to learn more about this game, consider checking out some of our other guides in the Guides Hub!
