Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart: a breathtaking gameplay demo on PS5, 4K and SSD in support
It was a bit of the big star of this gamescom 2020 opening night: long teased by the event and presenter Geoff Keighley, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart came to close the ceremony with a beautiful gameplay demo entirely captured on PlayStation 5. From what we had already seen during the reveal of the next-gen machine, this time it is a real sequence, complete, without cuts and even starting on the traditional "press on a key": we believe it and, moreover, the video in question is available below. Overflowing action, a colorful artistic direction, an ever-present humor, this opus looks damn promising: it is also a technical showcase for the Sony console since the adventure will be under the sign of 4K while by offering (very) intense particle effects and a solid framerate (obviously not at 60FPS nevertheless) and, above all, almost no loading time.

Another important detail: Rift Apart will be located in the original universe of the saga by following the latest opus to date, Into the Nexus, then abandoning the remake / reboot published in 2016. Once again, our two friends will face the tenacious Dr. Nefarious, the latter having seized the Dimensioner, a tool capable of mixing dimensions: it is moreover after the derailment of this one that the lombax and his robot buddy will have to cross the universes to n' in addition finish. Finally, be aware that Insomniac Games has confirmed that the software will be released in the "launch window" of the PS5. Unfortunately, the developers did not wish to comment further on the release and its possible integration into the line-up of the console.
