You didn't think Hopoo Games was done with Risk of Rain 2, did you? To celebrate the game's second anniversary since entering Early Access, Hopoo is giving players of the game another big update that includes the community's most requested survivor since Acrid.

Risk of Rain 2's Anniversary Update brings the rootin' tootin' Bandit to the roster, with the Survivor a fan favorite from game one with his crit-heavy boomstick. That's not all today's update brings; a large chunk of new items and quality of life changes reduce the chance of rain and more of a "make it rain" situation.

Two new moon items and boss items have been added in this update, along with a new boss and a new elite type. It looks like the lore entries have finally been finished, adding some flavor as seen in the first game. A handful of items have been rebalanced or reworked, making some items more (or less) viable. Especially more viable.

Some of the most exciting changes don't have to do with items or characters at all, but rather drones and other player minions like the Squid Polyp and ghosts that appear in Happiest Mask.

Minions will now despawn and teleport to the player when separated by 400 yards, and they will now scale with time-based difficulty. This means they won't be totally useless once you reach a certain point, and that's a huge deal.

No matter how you play or which survivors you prefer, there's something to like about the Risk of Rain 2 Anniversary Update. Check out the full patch notes on Steam, and console players don't. not move: you will receive the update soon enough.
