In the flood of headlines and AAA titles, Rollerdrome has managed to stand out, no doubt because it mixes two rather particular genres: the game of skateboarding / rollerblading with shoots where headshots will be legion. It's developed by Roll7, the creators of OlliOlliWorld, whose first big extension is coming in the next few hours. In the same way as a skate game, it is a question of doing as many acrobatic tricks as possible, but without forgetting to shoot your opponents, even in the air. Rollerdrome also manages to stand out with its retrofuturistic atmosphere, with the added bonus of 70's music composed by Electric Dragon, a musician specializing in Darksynth music.
For context, know that the game takes place in 2030, in a world where the population is entertained by following the excesses and violence of a new bestial arena sport: the Rollerdrome. The game is obviously reminiscent of the movie Rollerball, except that we have integrated firearms, tricks and challenges to be met. We will take control of Kara Hassan, a newcomer to this beastly sport, who will have to dismantle the plans of a high-tech giant. What is more surprising, however, is that this Rollerdrome already has an exact release date: August 16, 2022, on PC, PS5 and PS4 and will be sold at the sweet price of € 29,99.
