In development for far too long (at least 7 years, that's for sure), SCORN is a game that fascinates as much as it repels. It must be said that its organic universe seems to come out of the worst human abominations and the developers of Ebb Software intend to surf on this gloomy atmosphere where the walls are made of flesh, bone and blood. It is also difficult not to see an analogy, or at least a tribute, to the film Alien by Ridley Scott (1979), but especially to the work of Hans Ruedi Giger, the artistic director of the film. If the game was playable at gamescom 2022 a few weeks ago, the developers also want to reassure players about the time and time again postponed release date. This time, it's done, SCORN will be available on October 21, both on PC and Xbox Series, which had the support of Microsoft after going through the Kickstarter box. Suddenly, today, we are entitled to a large sequence of gameplay captured on PC and in 4K format, so that we can perfectly convey the very special atmosphere of this horror game like no other. The video lasts a little over 8 minutes and it is the very beginning of the game. Logically, not much is happening, the idea being to immerse the player in this macabre place and make him understand how he will interact with the world around him. No gunfights or organic weapons, but a few crunchy moments where you carry around a malformed body that seems to be in pain and asks for help. It is this creature that will serve us to advance in the game, after having placed it in a box which obviously recalls what happened at the end of the first Alien and at the beginning of Prometheus. But we'll let you see for yourself, the universe seems a bit copied/pasted, but it's not uninteresting.
