SEGA announces the Mega Drive Mini 2, there will be 50 games with it, here are the 1st games planned
While we thought that the market for retro consoles had been in decline for several months, SEGA pulled out of its shirt pocket the Mega Drive Mini 2, also known as the SEGA Genesis Mini 2 in the United States. It will be marketed in Japan from October 27, probably in the wake of the West, and its great feature is to offer a list of 50 games already pre-installed in the machine. Where SEGA is strong and justifies the purchase of this second version of the Mega Drive Mini, the first model of which was released in 2019, is that we will have access to all the games of the Mega-CD era. An announcement that was made a few hours ago, during a live stream from Tokyo and which was particularly followed by fans of the brand. Of course, we will find the atypical design of this machine released in 1993, knowing that there are two models: the Japanese version and the European version, with different colors on the cartridge port (red for the Japanese version, black for the European version). A 6-button controller will be delivered with the machine and we can expect to see additional accessories arriving later to be added to this Mega Drive Mini 2. We are thinking of the Mega CD of course, but also of the Mega Drive Tower Mini, let's be crazy!
While waiting to have the complete list of games, here is what was confirmed during this announcement on the games side:
