The return of the Silent Hill license to video games is an open secret. Between the rumors and the leaks which are multiplying, but also the information that Christophe Gans had given us in June 2022 in an interview devoted to the base for the re-release Le Pacte des Loups in 4K at the cinema, Konami is having a hard time keeping its secret. The French filmmaker had indeed confirmed to us that Konami was working on several games in order to promote the license throughout the world, the Japanese publisher having been galvanized by the success of the recent remakes of Resident Evil. If Christophe Gans launched the production of a new film Silent Hill, it was on the other hand a real contest of circumstances, his desire to revive Silent Hill in the cinema came from this need to recover the license rights acquired by the producer Samuel Hadida, and great friend of Gans for over 30 years. At the time of our interview with Christophe Gans, we had been able to glean other information, still unavailable at the time, and which we finally have the right to reveal to you today. The shooting of the film Silent Hill will start on February 20, 2023 in Serbia for a probable release in 2024, the year during which one of the new Silent Hill games will see the light of day. Because if the idea of remaking a Silent Hill film was not done in consultation with Konami, it was however decided to match the same release dates for the license to come back strong at the same time, cinema as video game. As for the filming in Serbia, Christophe Gans told us that he will be there from January to prepare the set up.
For the friends who missed my exclusive given by Christophe Gans last June for the return of Silent Hill in JV: small extract ^^
