The information fell this morning like an anvil on the head: Sony Interactive Entertainment announces to increase the price of the PS5 due to the current global economic situation and its impact on the business of the American manufacturer. It is through a post left on the PlayStation Blog that Jim Ryan justifies such an increase in certain markets. This concerns Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, but also Canada, while the United States is not affected by this price increase. The date of the price change has not been communicated (we imagine that it will be as soon as possible), but now, a PS5 in Digital Edition version goes from 399€ to 449€, while the PS5 with Blu-ray player will be sold for €549 instead of €499. Obviously, this decision can make you smile when you know how difficult it is always to get a console since its release in 2020. One thing is certain, since Jim Ryan runs the company, we no longer take white gloves to caress the player against the grain, and too bad for the reputation...
