Street Fighter 6: Capcom releases gameplay in 4K, Ryu and Chun-Li are magnificent!

Among the big announcements of this nightly State of Play was Street Fighter 6, which Capcom revealed last February and which showed off in a nice gameplay sequence. The opportunity to appreciate the artistic direction proposed by this episode which seems to move away slightly from the cartoon look of the last two episodes to offer something a little more realistic. This is obvious when you see Chun-Li's design, more refined in its features and with a much more realistic look. Ryu is no slouch and his loner master side that lives in the woods is always well represented. As for Luke, the last character in DLC for Street Fighter 5, he is as we were presented with, quite anecdotal in his design and somewhat headstrong in his attitudes. The game is developed with Capcom's in-house engine, namely the RE Engine, and will stand out from previous episodes with 3 different game modes: Fighting Ground, World Tour and Battle Hub. In the trailer, we learn about the Adventure mode which will undoubtedly allow us to create our own character, and then make it evolve within a small town.

Another major new feature for Street Fighter 6 is the presence of real-time commentary made possible only by a feature that allows the integration of the voices of commentators from the Versus Fighting community such as Jeremy "Vicious" Lopez and Ryutaro "Aru" Noda, knowing that this feature will support subtitles in 13 different languages. With Street Fighter 6, Capcom wants to reach a wider audience with the ability to switch between classic controls and modern controls, which are really simplified controls. Basically, we can replace the execution of special moves by combining a single press of a button and a direction. Gameplay-wise, Street Fighter 6 introduces the Drive System, a new gauge used to run five distinct techniques to enhance the player's offensive or defensive abilities, including Drive Impact, Drive Parry, Overdrive Art, Drive Rush, and Drive Reversal.

Street Fighter 6 is expected to release in 2023 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, and Xbox One. No more PlayStation exclusivity.
