August is coming to an end soon, gamescom 2022 is about to start and this is the moment Geoff Keighley has chosen to reveal the date of the 2022 edition of his Game Awards. The annual ceremony which rewards the best games of the year will take place on December 8 in Los Angeles, live from the Microsoft Theater. With the end of health restrictions in the United States, we should be entitled to an event similar to what took place last year, with a hybrid format, with stage presence and interventions via Zoom for some people. In the Deadline article, however, it is specified that the event will be broadcast in certain IMAX complexes in order to take advantage of the best possible conditions, as was the case for the Summer Game Fest 2022. Another novelty, and not the least, a new category will be added to the long list already present, namely the Best Adaptation, which corresponds to rewarding a video game license focused on another medium such as a film, a series or a novel.
