The Rumble Fish 2: 17 years later, Dimps' 2D fighting game brought to PC and consoles!

Better late than never. Seventeen years after its Arcade release on Sammy's Atomiswave terminals, The Rumble Fish 2 will finally be adapted for PC and consoles. The good news came last night after the publication of a gameplay video which tells us that the release is scheduled for this winter on PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and on Steam. On the new side, we can expect a port that was less chic in offering us a 16/9 display, the use of netcode rollback for online battles and a Gallery mode to unlock all the game's illustrations. At the time developed by Dimps (DBZ Budokai, that's them), The Rumble Fish 2 differed from other 2D fighting games by its game system. The player had two gauges, each divided into 3 parts, with which had to be juggled. First there is the offensive gauge, which fills up as the blows are struck, and which makes it possible to trigger Offensive Arts, which can often break the guard. Then there's the Defensive Gauge, which fills up as you take hits, and allows you to perform Defensive Arts, which generally give a tactical advantage to the player using it. Once both gauges are filled, a special technique can be launched. We'll keep you posted on the exact release date.
