Released on September 4, 2014, The Sims 4 is by far one of Electronic Arts' biggest hits on PC. With dozens of DLCs, expansions and other updates, the game has clearly paid for itself and its future is now on the table. In a press release freshly posted by the publisher, it is announced that The Sims 4 will become free-to-play on October 18. This means that it will be possible to download the game for free on PC, PS5, Xbox Series, PS4 and Xbox One and therefore accept the new economic model. In order to present all the new features and what this change will imply for players who already have the game, Electronic Arts and the Maxis studio will organize a special stream entitled "Behind The Sims Summit" on Twitch and YouTube at 19 p.m. French time on the channels The Sims. To thank the most loyal players, and all those who buy the base game before October 17, a Luxury in the Desert kit will be offered as a gift. This kit will allow Sims to relax in a modern oasis with luxurious indoor and outdoor furniture inspired by the desert and whose dominant materials will be stone and wood. Electronic Arts also says that the developers will continue to develop The Sims Express packs, kits and deliveries in the near future.
