It was the famous "one more thing" of the Epic Games conference dedicated to the Unreal Engine 5: the announcement of the new Tomb Raider was formalized yesterday by Dallas Dickinson, Franchise General Manager at Crystal Dynamics. If the players were delighted to learn that Lara Croft will return to service, he will however be patient since development has just started. Of course, this was an opportunity to praise the merits of the Unreal Engine 5, which offers ever more sophisticated tools to obtain more advanced and more photo-realistic graphic renderings. But since the graphics are not everything, it is also specified that this new Tomb Raider will take a step forward in terms of narration and gaming experience. Obviously, some will see it as just another marketing message to flatter the partner Epic Games and its new engine, but knowing the franchise and its neat graphics, we can still say that this next episode should a fortiori amaze us.
