Winter Breakaway is a limited-time mode in Rocket League featured in the Frosty Fest event. During Frosty Fest, players can play Winter Breakaway mode which replaces the ball with a hockey puck, much like Snow Day mode. Winter Breakaway also takes place exclusively on a snowy version of Throwback Stadium, the map that has hockey goals with space behind them.
Rocket League Frosty Fest rewards players with themed banners, titles, decals, and more for completing challenges during the event. The event will run until January 3 and will also feature the Spike Rush LTM.

Players can also earn gold gifts for playing 20 matches in any online game mode, which also includes Winter Breakaway. During the event, players can complete the challenge five times, so playing 100 matches will earn you all the gold gifts. The contents of Golden Gifts are listed as a rare item reward, but may also contain special holiday cosmetics.

Winter Breakaway mode with a puck is tough enough to score, but paired with the tough goals on the Throwback Stadium map, scoring is a big feat. With a little practice playing with the puck can produce some very fun and entertaining goals and gameplay.
