Xbox Elite Series 2: you can now customize the controller, it costs less than the DualSense Edge

Just yesterday, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that its DualSense Edge - presented at gamescom 2022 - would be available from January 26, 2023 at a price of €239,99, a price that does not take into account that of replaceable joystick modules (24,99€). In the process – and it is hard to believe that it was not voluntary – Microsoft indicated that it was now possible to customize the Xbox Elite Series 2 via Xbox Lab Design, a service that the manufacturer launched in 2016 and which is a great success with players.

According to what is explained to us in the press release, almost all the elements of the pad can be modified, whether it is the front, the back, the directional cross, the triggers, the buttons of slice, or even sticks. "You can even opt for a traditional or uniform directional cross and for the first time, you can change the color of the base of the analog sticks and their surroundings", we are told. Customize the storage case to match the Xbox Elite Series 2 colors? It's possible. Once the controller is delivered, there is a way to go to the Xbox Accessories application and customize the Xbox button, knowing that we are told of 16 million variants.

As for the base price, it amounts to € 139,99 without any options. The laser inscription of our name, our Gamertag or a personalized 16-character message raises the bill to €149,98. If we opt for the complete Elite set (which includes 4 paddles, 4 more joysticks, an additional BMD, a carrying case, a charger and a USB cable), we arrive at € 199,99, a saving of €29,97 compared to the separate purchase of each of the elements. Full options, the customized Xbox Elite Series 2 therefore costs €209,98. Looks like Microsoft seems to have learned the lesson when it comes to communication.
