Yakuza 8 changes its name, but brings Kazuma Kiryu back with white hair, 1st trailer

Announced almost a year ago, at the same time as Toshihiro Nagoshi's departure from SEGA (he has since opened his studio with the Chinese company NetEase), Yakuza 8 was officially announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2022. Studio Ryu Ga Gotoku had indeed invited the press to attend a panel to talk about the future of the Yakuza brand. The name was also abandoned by SEGA, which therefore decided to rename the series to Like a Dragon, either to mark the difference after the departure of its creator Nagoshi-san, or for licensing reasons. Nothing has been communicated on this subject, but the first trailer for this Yakuza Like a Dragon 8 brings back the character of Kazuma Kiryu, who had however passed the torch to Ichiban Kasuga in the previous episode. His return will obviously be justified in the scenario, and we see that the latter has changed. Small goatee and graying hair, Kazuma Kiryu has been given a makeover and the latter seems to be collaborating with Ichiban to do justice in a still bright Kamurocho. We will not know more for the moment, except that the game arrives in 2024 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series.
