Z-Event 2022: following the controversy, Zerator changes association and decides to innovate

Just a week ago, Adrien Nougaret (ZeratoR) and Alexandre Dachary (Dach) unveiled the entire program and dates for the next Z-Event 2022, which had chosen the GoodPlanet foundation as the beneficiary of the funds raised. A very controversial choice, which has been the subject of numerous debates on social networks since the announcement of the event. Faced with the magnitude of the stakes, but also the withdrawal of certain streamers who decided not to participate in the event due to the presence of GoodPlanet, Zerator published a message in which he announced the change of association. charity. Accused of Greenwashing because of its partnerships with companies such as TotalEnergie, BNP Paribas and EDF, not to mention the comments made by Yann Arthus-Bertrand about the World Cup in Qatar, GoodPlanet therefore withdrew from the project. This is a great first since the creation of the Z-Event, which had caused controversy a few days earlier, accused of racism for the absence of certain streamers.

Faced with this, Zerator has therefore announced a new mode of operation, allowing Internet users to vote freely for 5 ecological associations. To do this, simply go to the site in question, enter your email address and select up to 5 associations among the twenty proposed. Once the selection is made, an email will be sent to you with a confirmation link. Voting will close on July 13. Faced with the controversy, Albane Godard, director general of the GoodPlanet foundation, split a video (already seen more than 820 times) in order to justify the support of the foundation which is so controversial and to announce the withdrawal of GoodPlanet from the Z-Event.

We choose to involve as many players as possible in the ecological and solidarity transition, so as not to remain convinced. The controversies that have been driving Twitter for the past few days serve the cause for which each of us, employees, volunteers, partners in the field, work tirelessly. Their unwavering commitment and work of immense quality is unfoundedly questioned. It is for this reason, and because the ecological cause must not suffer from unnecessary controversy, at a time when it is time to act, that we have decided to withdraw from ZEvent 2022.
