As you might expect, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time was the talk of the town at tonight's State of Play. Indeed, Activision unveiled a 5-minute trailer which provided new information on the game, starting with the possibility of playing Dingodile. Appearing for the first time in Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, the bugger decided to open a restaurant which, unfortunately, was reduced to dust before he was sucked into another dimension.
"In addition to Neo Cortex, you will be able to play entire levels and alternate stories with Dingodile, we are told. While Cortex transforms his enemies into platforms and gelatinous masses with his blaster, Dingodile shows less ... finesse. He ditched his flamethrower for a vacuum cannon, through which he can suck up barrels of TNT and launch them with precision to blow up anything that gets in his way home."
In addition, we learn that Crash and Coco will be able to benefit from bonus skins by earning gems and accomplishing specific tasks, and that an “N. Verted” mode will also be present. It "takes the concept of Mirror Mode and Phase Shift and takes it even further. It's not just about a perspective shift. When playing in this mode, you may find yourself in a dimension where you need to project paint to reveal the path or keep pace with a film reel that speeds up gameplay as it scrolls through images on the screen.Once this mode is unlocked, all levels of the game can be replayed with unique graphics, gameplay and challenges to provide real challenge and extra rewards for completionists and those who are just curious to see their favorite levels in N. Verted mode.
Finally, let's not forget to point out that Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is now available for pre-order with, as a bonus, the Totally Chebran skin. PS4 owners will be entitled to two additional skins: Marsupus erectus and Serious upgrade. You will have to go through the second level of the game to unlock them. The game is scheduled for release on October 2 on PS4 and Xbox One.
