It has clearly become a running gag and it seems to continue: Cyberpunk 2077, which we thought would land on November 19, 2020 after numerous postponements and formalization in Gold status, has just been postponed again. In a message published on all of its social networks, CD Projekt Red explains the need to postpone the game for an additional 21 days in order to synchronize the release of all the platforms on which it should arrive (PC, consoles current gen' and next gen', but also Google Stadia). Adam Badowski and Marcin Iwiński, the directors of the studio, obviously apologize to all the players, explaining that the health crisis clearly had an impact on the finalization of the game, a good part of the teams having to work remotely.
We are aware that a period of 21 days may seem superficial given the construction site seen from the outside, but it can make all the difference.

The general incomprehension comes mainly from the fact that the studio had announced that the game had passed Gold and therefore ready to go in duplication and thus arrive on time. Adam Badowski and Marcin Iwiński take the opportunity to explain that this term "Gold" is often misunderstood by the public and that it means above all that the game is ready, that we can finish it in its entirety and that the all content is consistent. The two men also specify that the work does not stop and that we must continue to work on the Day 0 patch and that it is the management of the schedule that has been badly managed. Despite these somewhat wobbly and clumsy explanations, we will not forget to specify that this is a first in the industry, that a game past gold is postponed for last minute finishing needs. While some players see absolutely nothing alarming about this delay in the schedule, others are seriously beginning to worry about the quality of the game. And it is true that after the hands-on we were able to having this summer, quite a few aspects of the game had been scaled down.
In the wake of the message tweeted by the developers, journalist Jason Schreier balances that studio employees had not been made aware of these 21 days and that they discovered the bad news at the same time as the public. Suffice to say that the crunch that was imposed and formalized not long ago will continue for several weeks...
