EVE Online: technical improvements are coming, here is the list of new features
Always with the aim of reviving the interest around EVE Online and keeping its community intact, the developers of CCP Games will make major technical changes. The Icelandic studio has been communicating about it for months, especially since the EVE Evolved initiative, which consists of updating the entire visual and sound aspect of the game. In detail and to start with the sound part, it has been explained that a new sound prioritization system has been enabled in EVE, bringing the soundscape of New Eden battles to life with new levels of detail and clarity. The title will no longer try to play all sounds at once; but will highlight the most important, or most relevant sound effects, thus offering a better immersion. Visually, people with AMD FreeSync or NVIDIA G-SYNC monitors and GPUs will be able to enable the technology in-game, which will ensure better fluidity thanks to a variable refresh rate.
But that's not all, the user interface has also been redesigned, in particular that of Photon and Neocom which are more modern, and above all more readable. This comes with an update to notifications, replacing red dots with a more subtle highlight, and an improved compact mode giving you more control over how you view your inventory. CCP Games announces that other updates are to be expected in the coming weeks. We will of course keep you informed.
