It looks like the new Harry Potter RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, will feature some sort of morality system when it finally releases in 2021. It's currently unclear how in-depth this will be, but it's still a good mechanic to feature in. a world therefore strongly focused on good and evil. Warner Bros released this information in a recent Q&A.
In Hogwarts Legacy, you can play as a Hogwarts student in the late 1800s, but it's unclear if you can choose which of the four houses you want to be in or if the Sorting Hat will do it for you. Will the morality system be different depending on the house chosen for you? Gryffindor is supposed to be brave and courageous, so if you start doing dastardly deeds, will you turn to evil faster? Or will the effects be almost negligible? That the way other students and teachers react and talk to you will change, and nothing else?
How big will the game be, will the morality system hold the world back or limit where you can go? From what the trailers tell us, you'll be able to explore the magical halls of Hogwarts, as well as other fan-favorite locations such as the Forbidden Forest and even Hogsmeade Village. It will be fascinating to see how Avalanche Studios integrates the morality system, because the world of Harry Potter is so vast and detailed.
Hogwarts Legacy is set to release in 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S.
