Four months is the time it took Jurassic World Dominion (The World After in VF) to reach the very closed circle of films that have exceeded one billion dollars at the box office. However, it was not won, given the very negative feedback around this third episode, lambasted by the press but also the spectators. But you should never doubt the power of dinosaurs, especially since the film had a very positive launch with $ 145 million in the first weekend, becoming the second best start of 2022 on American soil, after "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" and its $187 million. To date, Jurassic World Dominion has generated $376 million in the United States and $624 million internationally. Only three films (Spider-Man: No Way Home and Top Gun Maverick) managed to reach the billion in 2022, but unlike the latter, Jurassic World The World After had the advantage of having been screened in China, where it grossed $158 million.
For comparison, the first Jurassic World (2015) ended its run at 1.6 billion dollars and the second episode, Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, stopped at 1.3 billion dollars. The franchise is therefore a safe bet at the box office.
