Sony announces the acquisition of a new studio: Savage Game Studios

To start the new school year off right, Sony Interactive Entertainment has decided to announce its new acquisition: the Savage Game Studios studio. This name certainly doesn't mean much to you, even if you're a fan of video game news, and that's normal since it's a studio specializing in mobile games. Few mobile companies have made a name for themselves in the video game landscape, but by joining the famous PlayStation family, the company founded by Michail Katkoff, Nadjim Adjir and Michael McManus has every intention of making a name for itself among the big names in video games. These have gone through other major studios like Rovio, Zynga, Supercell and even Insomniac Games.

Then why join PlayStation Studios? you ask. If we have entered into this agreement, it is because we believe that the management of PlayStation Studios, in addition to respecting our mode of operation and our vision of success, shares our taste for innovation. Add to that the ability to tap into the incredible catalog of PlayStation franchises, as well as the breadth of support that only PlayStation Studios can offer, and the question isn't so much "Why join them?" that “Why not join them?

The objective for Sony behind this acquisition is to strengthen its presence in mobile gaming, a sector that is still just as buoyant, especially in markets such as Asia, and China in particular. We will therefore have to expect to see the arrival of mobile games based on the prestigious PlayStation licenses. For the moment, Savage Game Studios has premises in Berlin and Helsinki, but it is not forbidden for the company to grow as projects grow within PlayStation Studios.
