The outcome of each shootout you take in Free Fire is determined by two factors: your skills and your weapons. Although gunplay skills are mastered over time, choosing the right weapon to practice with is crucial. This guide will help you find the best weapons to use in the game.
Best Assault Rifles (AR) in Free Fire
- M14 – Has the highest damage and range of any AR in the game. Requires skill to operate but is extremely powerful as the kill shots are low. A major drawback is the low magazine capacity of 15 rounds.
- AUG – A perfectly balanced gun that offers good damage, good rate of fire and good accuracy. The default version has a pre-attached scope which is useful in medium range fights.
- Groza – An excellent weapon with high damage and range. It is a rare find and has a high recoil kick.
- M4A1 – It is similar to the AUG but with better range and therefore more suitable for long distance engagements.
Best submachine guns (SMG) in free fire
- MP40 – The best close range weapon in Free Fire. The fast fire rate and decent damage make this SMG deadly. However, the associated downsides include range, accuracy, and a base magazine size of 20.
- Thompson – A well balanced SMG that eliminates the disadvantages of the MP40 while keeping its advantages. It also has a large magazine capacity of 42 rounds.
- UMP – It features reasonably high damage and fire rate while keeping the gun controllable. Movement speed is also the highest of all SMGs.

Best Free Fire Sniper Rifles
The following two snipers are very similar as they have identical damage and fire rate. However, you can choose one depending on the characteristic of the weapon you prefer.
- M82B – It has a faster reload speed, carries two extra rounds in the magazine, and has excellent armor penetration against vehicles.
- AWM – The only advantage AWM has over the M82B is the slightly better accuracy, which isn't even noticeable. It's still a fantastic weapon if you can get your hands on it.
Best Light Machine Guns (LMG) in Free Fire
- Gatling – It has high accuracy, range, damage and fire rate. What sets the Gatling apart from other LMGs is the 1200 round capacity. But keep in mind that mobility while holding this gun is terribly slow.
- M249 – This is the fastest firing LMG with great range and high accuracy. The magazine size of 100 is neither too much nor less.
- Kord – Compared to other weapons in its class, Kord has significantly better movement speed. The rest of the properties are more or less similar to the M249.
Best Free Fire Sniper Rifles
- Woodpecker – The M21 has the highest rate of fire and accuracy of any DMR. It is great for pulling and pulling players out of vehicles.
- SVD – It has the highest damage and range in its class. It also comes with a pre-fitted 4x optic. However, the Dragunov is rare and can only be found in Airdrops and Supply Points.
Best Free Fire Shotguns
- MAG-7 – This weapon has more mobility and fire rate than any shotgun but lacks damage.
- M1887 – Although it only has two shells in the chamber, the incredibly high damage can easily knock players down with a single hit. Nonetheless, shotguns are not a popular weapon choice and their viability is limited to the inner circles.
