Why has Adopt Me disabled trading?

Adopt Me fans know that the game is extremely popular and is the biggest game on the Roblox platform. This coat does not come without problems on occasion. One such issue from time to time is the ability to trade pets with other players. While most people who play the game think it's a cool feature, it's been quite problematic with many younger players getting ripped off by their precious pets. Whichever side of the fence you sit on when it comes to trading, it remains a popular aspect of the game.

On September 29, 2020, Adopt Me announced on their Twitter that they were temporarily disabling trading due to a serious bug. Here is the exact tweet:

We have temporarily disabled trading to investigate a serious trading bug that was causing items to disappear. We'll review the fix and update you when we know a bit more. We're sorry for the inconvenience and bug, and thank you for your patience.

Unfortunately, we haven't received any further information on when this feature will return to the game. I assume this will require some sort of patch to fix, so they might wait for the Fossil Isle addition, which is released before the highly anticipated Fossil Egg. This is pure speculation at the moment, so it looks like we'll just have to wait and see how long it takes for the Adopt Me developers to fix the issue.

For now, you'll just have to hang on to your pets and wait for the bug to be squashed. We hope it will be as soon as possible, as the game will be loaded with players once the new egg is released and the dinosaurs start roaming the game!
