Friday the 13th Jason Vorhees skin coming to Fortnite? Here's why we're not so sure

The hottest rumor on the Fortnite internet is that Jason Vorhees, our favorite Camp Crystal Lake resident, is coming to the Item Shop. We have to give you proper notice: This is complete speculation, and there's no solid evidence that he "ll...um...bless us with his presence." By blessing ourselves, we may or may not want to send ourselves to good. place.

Fortnite skins are all the rage in Chapter 2 Season 5, as they bring us plenty of hunters from some of the most iconic movies, shows, and games. We saw the Mandolorian, the Predator and the T-800. Fortnite development company Epic Games has stopped at nothing to bring us our favorite villains and heroes.

To support. No way. What is happening?

We've now come to the possibility that Jason Vorhees from the classic Friday the 13th film series will be a usable skin this season. The reason? Well, some known Fortnite leakers and speculators have come forward with evidence to consider.

Let's make it come to the game first. Beyond the rumors that the next Fortnite skin will probably be male, the first thing we present to you is the fact that the mainframe portal has arrived in Canoe Lake. As we all know, this is a part of the map that is not used often and has not yet revealed a character. There are plenty of other possibilities this place could host, but surely the most iconic of them all is the Friday the 13th movie series.

The Mainframe Portal can belong to Jason starting Friday the 13th!

No doubt you think that's not enough evidence. Remember – we don't have hard evidence, and the only evidence we have is speculative. However, we also note other evidence below.

The similarities are not certain, but strong

Another Tweet from a Fortnite player, who managed to get some footage to compare. They're not perfect, but we can definitely see why some of these views could be remakes of the movie.

WAIT WAIT that's my theory

Call me crazy but at Camp Cristal Lake which is popular for FORTNITE canoes we have CANOE LAKE

With the confirmation leaks that the next hunter is POSSIBLY male Keep in mind that Jason Voorhees is hunting people

Although the wharf is not precise, the two houses look suspiciously similar. The little one bears a strong resemblance to the house in the film's title screen. For those of us familiar with the movie, we can certainly compare the yellow house to the big house for all campers.

Seems...Possible. But here's why that's not likely.

The first point: again, these images are not accurate. It looks like they were randomly put together from a conspiracy someone thought of while playing the game.

Second, and most important: The future of the Friday the 13th series is in legal limbo, and has been for years. As it stands, no new media content can be created that contains copyrighted material from Friday the 13th, including Jason Vorhees himself.

We'll link you to the full article, but summarize it here for you: No one knows who owns the rights to the Jason Vorhees character. The person who was deemed to hold the original copyright to the series was not part of the development team when Jason Vorhees took over as the killer in Part II.

So if no one knows who Jason Vorhees belongs to, they can't exactly get the rights to put him in a game or create new content that contains him. This includes Epic Games.

But wait... Maybe it's not unlikely? (He is.)

We'll save you from speculating too much, but we have one more point to make. There is a possible loophole for Epic Games to have managed to put Jason Vorhees in the game. Before the copyright legal battle began in 2017, Epic Games could have made plans and designed the character. Since already created content could continue to exist and only new content could not be added or created, this could be a workaround in some way.

We're no legal experts, but put it in layman's terms...it makes sense! If Epic has already created the content and readied it to be added, it wouldn't technically be adding anything new. Since the legal battle was just new, they probably wanted to wait to introduce it into the game.
